It starts with a bathroom

Washington (CNN)  - North Carolina's governor on Wednesday signed a controversial bill blocking cities from allowing transgender individuals to use public bathrooms for the sex they identify as -- as well as restricting cities from passing nondiscrimination laws more broadly.

House Bill 2, the Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, puts in place a statewide policy that bans individuals from using public bathrooms that do not correspond to their biological sex. The bill also reserves the right to pass nondiscrimination legislation to the state government, saying state laws preempt any local ordinances.

Pat McCrory, a Republican, signed the bill Wednesday night and tweeted, "Ordinance defied common sense, allowing men to use women's bathroom/locker room for instance. That's why I signed bipartisan bill to stop it." - End fucking Quote.

Ok, so I am a taxpaying citizen, a veteran of a foreign war, a wife and a father of four and I am transgender. My rights don't matter. Pat McCrory and the wonderfully conservative state of NC have made sure that I cannot use the bathroom, which by the way isn't a right but a necessity. The "Bathroom" bills are a nice shortcut to banning transgender from publicly being transgender. It bypasses all the fights about what to call whom and what makes you a specific or non-specific gender. It takes away debate and therefore keeps control over an already minor, minority.
I'm not going to argue the facts, we know this is ridiculous, he knows this is ridiculous, the state knows. They just don't care. They will force us to go into a mens room (or for FtM, the womens room), then they will look the other way when we are beaten to death. They will look the other way while we have to, again, hide who we are. They will look the other way while we kill ourselves because we are right back where we started, hated and ignored, alone and now banned from existing.

I am sitting at a computer, using a fake name, typing on a blog, because I am afraid to come out to the world. (which is only fake, again because I am afraid of losing my job by coming out) We aren't LGBT anything, we are just T. If you are trans and gay, then you are still just T. We are a minority, and frankly no one wants us at the party. Homosexuals weren't banned from using the bathroom, being gay is supported in spite of the conservative agenda. However, when it all comes down, once we are out of the way, once T is hidden away where we "belong", then it will be the conservative agenda to eradicate homosexuals. We are an easy target, dealt with first, then they move on to their harder to hit targets. You need to remember that we all fall apart if we stand alone.

It starts with a bathroom, it will end with us.
